Gee Gee

My grandma and the girls' Gee Gee passed away last night. She was not able to recover from the Nov. stroke. She was with hospice for a week and was able to go peacefully last night after lots of visitors and all of us said good-bye to her. Such a strong and amazing lady. I miss her so much and our daily talks and weekly visits, but my heart feels happy knowing her pain is gone. Love you Grandma!

Catch up...

I feel like I may never catch up. My grandma is still at the rehab center. She really wants to go home. Trying to find private nurse care to make that happen. Eventhough the last month and a half has been rough for her, we are thankful that she has been able to see everyone and communicate her wishes. I have been able to visit her everyday (aside from the days we were just in SD). She is such a trooper and we are lucky to have her in our lives.
David's dad is doing pretty well. He has surgery this week to put stints in the 2 other arteries. His heart is working at about 20% right now, but they think it can get stronger again after it repairs itself from the heart attacks. He is so lucky to have survived and again we are lucky to still have him with us. So much to be thankful for. :)

We were just in SD for a few days. We enjoyed the best beach weather and Sea World of course. The girls and I took a behind the scenes tour while David took the hour to catch up on work. We got to see and feed dolphins, eels and sea turtles. So much fun! Gianna was the only one that would hold the squid and feed the eels...Jadyn and I were grossed out. The cute little fish was hanging out near the surface so Gianna kept saying...awww...he likes me. She is such the animal lover. She even pet an alligator there and then wanted one. The girl said maybe a bearded dragon would be better...um, no more pets please!
The photo of me and the randoms is from the Seal and Sea Lion show at Sea World. We love that place. The entertainer pretended to take a photo of just me, then started adding people to the photo before finally jumping in. The poor little boys he picked were being blinded by the sun. The girls thought the whole thing was funny, so it made it worth it. You all know how much I love going up in front of crowds (Thanks Shives for making Andrea drag me on stage at the pub! Christina luckily saved the day...I still owe you a spank for that Siobhan! xo)
We hope everyone has an amazing 2012!!
Happy New Year!

Show and Tell

Jadyn asked if she could bring Gianna for Show and Tell last night. I thought she was kidding, but she wasn't. I asked why and she said, well...she is special to me. Aww....I will keep that in mind the next time they are fighting over who has more bubbles near them during a bath. haha
She got to bring her in today and Maddy yesterday. Being Star Student has its perks...:)

Success!

We got the girls to the concert and to their seats before they knew we were at a concert. They had sooo much fun! We had seats in the 4th row, so we could see everything perfectly. Jadyn could barely look at Selena since she was so happy. Jadyn said it was the best day ever. :) It was a great night!

Every Moment....

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes and prayers for my gma. :) She is still in the hospital, but doing ok. It will be a few months before we know the extent of the damage done from the brain bleed. So thankful she is still here though! :)
I know everyone hears to enjoy every moment you have with family and luckily we have been able to spend weekly visits and daily talks with Gee Gee. Her 80th surprise party was last night, but when my parents went to get her, she was on the floor in her bathroom. I had talked with her in the morning. She sounded happy. They talked to her 40 minutes before getting to her...she was going to fix her hair before going to "dinner" with us...really the surprise party. She had another massive stroke, but made it through surgery last night. She couldn't talk before going in, but could squeeze our hands...she had all but 3 out of 10 grandkids with her. I am thankful for every moment even if it means she will now live in a care home or have more limitations. Every day is a gift. Hug your kids, parents, and grandparents if you are lucky enough to still have them. Love my grandma and girls' Gee Gee so much! xo
